After creating an account, go to the Hub and choose a Campaign. Select your character, then press Begin Adventure. The Story Master will set the scene and wait for your first action.
No. Play Grimoire runs entirely in your browser. A modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) and a stable internet connection are all you need.
From the Hub, click Create Character. Choose your name, race, class, gender, and backstory. The AI will generate a portrait for you. You can regenerate the portrait as many times as you like before saving.
Yes. Your character roster persists across all your adventures. Simply select the character you want when starting a new campaign.
Character details are locked once an adventure begins to keep your Chronicle consistent. You can create a new character at any time.
Type what your character does or says in the action box and press Enter (or click Send). The Story Master will respond and advance the scene.
The AI is generating narration, creating a scene image, and producing voice audio simultaneously. Most responses arrive within 15–40 seconds depending on server load.
Occasionally the image generation service times out. The story continues normally; the image will refresh on the next beat.
Click Leave Adventure in the sidebar. Your progress is saved automatically; you can resume from the Hub at any time.
A Chronicle is the illustrated book of your adventure. Each scene becomes a comic-style panel with art, narration, and your actions. Chronicles are numbered globally — your first chronicle is your personal Archive No. 1.
Go to the Hub and click My Chronicles. You can read each one online or export it as a print-ready PDF.
Yes! From the Chronicle view, click Order Print. We partner with Lulu Press to produce a professionally bound softcover book and ship it to your door.
From the Hub, create or open a campaign and switch the mode to Multiplayer. Share the session link with your friends. Once everyone has joined the lobby and selected their characters, the host can start the adventure.
Make sure you have created and selected a character before joining the lobby. If you see the "Pick Your Hero" notice, click it and choose your character. You will be sent back to the lobby automatically.
Not in the current version. All players must be in the lobby before the host starts the session.
Play Grimoire offers a limited free tier so you can try the experience before subscribing. Full access — unlimited adventures, Chronicle exports, and multiplayer — requires an active subscription. See the Pricing page for current plans.
Go to Settings and click Manage Subscription. You can cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
